Silvaplana is located in the heart of the Upper Engadine lake landscape, surrounded by impressive three thousand meter peaks such as the local mountain, the Corvatsch with its highest mountain station in the Eastern Alps. The village with its three districts of Silvaplana, Champfèr and Surlej radiates a lively charm with its diverse sports and activities and its equally varied offerings in the hotel and restaurant scene. Every sports enthusiast will find something to suit their taste here: above all wind and kite surfers, who will find the best offer far and wide with the reliable Maloja wind. Magnificent panoramic paths and old Roman mule tracks offer a true Eldorado for bikers and hikers. Silvaplana is also the venue for many popular sports events, including the Coppa Romana curling tournament, the Engadin wind, bike fun and, for the first time, the Graubünden-Glarus wrestling festival in 2009. In Silvaplana almost nothing is impossible except boredom.

Public transport

Silvaplana-Surlej is located on the cantonal road through the Engadin and can be reached by car, depending on the route, via the Julier, Maloja, Albula passes (winter closure) or by car through the Vereina tunnel. Engadin Bus operates several stops in Silvaplana and connects them to all surrounding villages.
